MEET OUR FUN-LOVING FOUNDER, LHAKI

The vision for Atara has been brewing within Lhaki for many years. She grew up in the Himalayan town of Kalimpong, nestled between India, Tibet and Nepal. This is a region where a sense of community plays a huge part in everyday life. Fun and hospitality combine to create spirited social hubs in the lively salons and cafes of these hillside towns and villages. It’s her memories of these happy environments that spurred her to create Atara – a place to laugh, relax and enjoy the experience of a friendly nailbar, which offers first-class treatments, drinks and unparalleled customer care.

Lhaki decided to leave her career in the civil service to pursue a life-long passion for the beauty industry, and enrolled at the London School of Beauty and Makeup to get her professional qualifications. In her signature jovial manner, she often joked that she was the grandmother of her class.

Upon graduation she began working in high-end nailbars in central London to hone her craft, while still dreaming of launching a business with a unique sense of identity. As well as recreating the entertaining community atmosphere she recalled from her childhood. She also had strong humanitarian drives and motivations in mind when the concept of Atara Nailbar began to form. With this comes a vision that Atara will one day give back to the community.
